As a result of space science research that has been going on for more than 100 years, the scientific world has been making achievements in space technology for the last 70 years. As a result, humanity is getting many benefits like television, mobile phones, websites. In this situation, space laws have also started to emerge internationally.
Habitable satellite
The man-made house for studying space is called the International Space Station. It is the largest man-made and habitable satellite. Its size is about 500 square meters and weighs 445 tons. It is 50 times larger than a Maruti car. The space station, which is located in space 400 kilometres away from Earth, is achieving great achievements in space research. All the information obtained from the research carried out in the space station will be useful for future space travel projects such as sending humans to the Moon, Mars and interplanetary space.

The International Space Station is a joint venture between USA’s the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Russia’s Space Research Organization (Ros cosmos), The European Union’s Space Agency (ESA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). Built to make discoveries, it is estimated to cost between $100 billion and $160 billion. (From Rs 87,00,00,00,00,000/-).
Daily life
Space shuttles are used to transport astronauts from Earth to the space station and back, and astronauts work for about 10 hours a day. An astronaut’s day begins at 6 am.
• Early morning routines and station inspection upon waking.
• Breakfast
• Consultation with all astronauts at 8 am regarding the plans and various projects for the day
• Then consultation on various tests, management/operations
• 2 pm – lunch, 3 pm – one hour sleep
• Other work and exercise after break
• 8 pm – dinner
• 9 pm – consultation, then sleep
Food
Some permanent members are present on the space station and some for a few days. Accordingly, sleeping space is arranged. Permanent members are provided with permanent residence and temporary members are provided with sleeping bags (air bags). Food for those on the space station is kept in a refrigerated state and kept in a processed state. Food is prepared as per the advice of food experts. Accordingly, individual food packages are provided to the astronauts. This maintains the quantity and purity of nutrients. Astronauts prepare their food using food packages. The station has refrigerators and food heating devices.
Toilet
From the space station, astronauts can communicate with control rooms on Earth through radio waves. This facility is also used for communication between astronauts’ family members and scientists on Earth. Just like on Earth, astronauts also use the toilet on the space station. They are trained to go to the toilet in microgravity conditions. Special commodes are used for that.
Since the space station is large, the outer surface is made of many metal materials and has huge solar panels that reflect sunlight. Due to this, the space station is visible from Earth with the naked eye and with telescopes. It is noteworthy that the Indian Space Research Organization has started planning and operations to set up a station in space.
